Boston, an established suburb in Bellville

Boston, or Boston Estate, is a suburb in Bellville, City of Cape Town, South Africa, and is one of Bellville’s oldest residential suburbs. The oldest house still stands in Boston on 1st avenue.

Boston presents a unique opportunity for renewal, updates and beautification, as it’s one of the main entrances welcoming people into Bellville. It is also one of the oldest residential areas with a high density of retail activities facing Frans Conradie Drive. The classic architecture in Boston contributes to the middle-class status of properties in the suburb. The location of Boston offers a tranquil setting and simultaneously positions the suburb in a prime location near the beautiful Jack Muller Danie Uys Park. As an old well-established suburb, residents have access to all essential amenities which define a suburb such as schools, malls, entertainment and access to industrial and commercial hubs.

Boston can be classified as a middle-class suburb, a segment with high demand in todays’ economic climate, ensuring stable growth in property values. A mixed property usage which consists of freehold homes, apartments and townhouses with a fair number of residential commercial properties on major roads means there is more than enough to choose from.

Interesting history on Boston, Bellville:

In 1900, a company from the United States bought a piece of land known as “the Willows” from Mr Duminy, which was part of Loevenstein. The new owners subdivided the land into stands, spurring residential development. Victorian-style buildings with bay windows, wooden floors, lead glass windows, pressed steel ceilings and wooden frame windows are common features of individual homes.

Boston is named after the eponymous city of Boston, Massachusetts. Most street names in Boston reflect the suburb’s U.S. connections, such as Broadway, Washington, Gladstone, Lincoln, Salisbury and Cleveland.
Boston offers several nearby reputable schools for children, including D.F. Malan High School, Totius Primary, Boston Primary (the first English medium school in the Northern Suburbs), and Vredelust Primary, all located within the area. Source: Boston, Bellville – Wikipedia.
