Blooming success sprouts new life and community connection.
Another milestone was reached in the first phase of the better. bellville. together. initiative alongside its mission to stimulate investment appeal, foster community engagement, and revitalise the local region, while making Bellville a cleaner and more beautiful place to live, work, and play.
Since launching, nine new gardens across Bellville have blossomed into stunning oases, sowing the seeds of safety, cleanliness, and pure botanical joy for all to enjoy.
Three of the larger gardens situated on the centre island at the corner of Frans Conradie and Durban Road, along with five replanted planter boxes along Cross Street, and an impressive planter box on the corner of Durban and Voortrekker Roads, Bellville is now adorned with flourishing greenery at every turn.
Approximately 2000 new plants, consisting of 23 different species, have been carefully selected and thoughtfully curated to create a harmonious blend of nature. Notably, more than 90% of these plants are indigenous, ensuring the preservation of our unique local flora, including elegant Aloe arborescens and the resilient Barleria obtuse. The striking Gazania uniflora and the golden Portulacaria afra ‘Aurea,’ also helps showcase the diverse beauty of our region.
